What’s Happening?

Hey everyone,

There have been some exciting things happening in the world of Joacob and Martha.

Firstly; author Ant Ravenwood and his songwriting partner Andy Johnson have been enjoying taking the story out to the public, performing some of the songs and telling the story at libraries and other outlets in and around Northamptonshire. Ant has been visiting more Watermills and other venues for future storytelling events, so keep checking our ‘Events’ page for details.

The Breathing Wheel Live Show has a new date; 24th January 2015 at the same venue. It was felt that more time was needed to work on the music and effects for the show, and the team are working hard to pull everything together for this special one-off event.

Filnally for now; Ant and Andy (aka 2OAK) are working hard on the concept album and have been recording tracks with former bandmate Richard Morris, and will soon be laying tracks down with Charleigh Riche on flute and vocals, and Lara Selmassi on vocals. The double album is hoped to be completed by January 2015 in time for the Live Show.

Also, Ant is looking at an audio version of ‘The Breathing Wheel’ which will take the fantasy story into new and exciting realms! – More news next time.

Thank you to everyone for their support and feedback – Very much appreciated.

News: The Live Performance, July 2014

The Breathing Wheel Concept Album Live

The Breathing Wheel Concept Album Live

In July ‘The Breathing Wheel’ will be performed in its entirety as a piece of musical theatre.

This is a huge undertaking by author Anthony Ravenwood, but is being created as a preview show with plans to take it to other venues in 2015.

The story originally began life as an idea in Anthony’s head for a few songs that were demo’d way back in 1987. A full story was developed and it grew into the children’s fantasy book we see today, published by Magic Oxygen Publishing.

The songs sat on a shelf for many years while the story was being developed, but are now being dusted down and developed to create a musical journey that takes the listener through the original, darker side of the tale.

Press Release: The Breathing Wheel

coverAnthony Ravenwood has a bounty of creative credits to his name.

As a musical and film director, songwriter, performance poet and lead singer of one of the country’s best tribute bands, he finally adds author to the list, with his début fantasy fiction title for children, The Breathing Wheel.

It’s a tale that spans over 300 years and has been rolling around in Ant’s head following a holiday in the late 80’s to Llandudno in North Wales where he visited a watermill. It lit a spark in the core of his vivid imagination and as he regularly lost himself listening to The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway by Genesis, the wild adventure fleshed itself out in his mind.

Over 20 years later, the story has found its way to Simon West at Magic Oxygen Publishing in Lyme Regis and has a publication date of Monday 25th November 2013.

Simon explained, ‘The Breathing Wheel is a captivating read with grandiose creatures, evil hags and ghostly souls in equal measure and love and hope at its core. It’s ideal for young readers and lovers of fantasy fiction alike.’
