It’s been a busy couple of days starting with a great first promotional event with Roade Brownies in Northamptonshire yesterday. The small group of girls really enjoyed the presentation and even got to join in with some of the songs. They also went away with a drawing of their favourite character to colour in for a competition.
The event was at the local village hall where it is hoped that the live show will be performed next summer.
Then it was off to the central library, to pass on information to the events lady to arrange a date for an event there.
As an after-thought, Anthony went down to the Tourist Information office and spoke to a person there who turned out to be Team Leader for Customer and Library Services! – jackpot! The libraries will be holding a summer reading event in 2014 with the theme ‘Mythical Maze’ – The Breathing Wheel will be just perfect for that.
Then it was a call to Anthony’s childhood school; Hackleton Primary where, by chance, the literacy co-ordinator was able to speak to him so he found himself walking into the playground for the first time in many years.
Anthony said “The school has changed almost beyond recognition. Rooms and corridors are in different places and I was lead upstairs into a staff room that didn’t exist when I went there as a boy. It was a weird trip down memory lane, and we spoke about my time at the school with fond memories.”
The team have been pencilled in for a session with the children in December, so check back to find out more.
